The Brief

Revitalise an established brand while keeping it’s identity fresh and relevant, or developing a more memorable brand experience. Address how the brand can better connect with a younger audience.

After identifying trends in Gen-Z around reduced alcohol consumotion and increased health awareness, I created Hydros. A sub-brand to Soda Stream to bring the fizz to festivals whilst promoting staying safe.

The Design

A multi-sensory experience. It all starts with the touch of the button which creates the iconic Soda Stream fizz sound and hundreds of bubbles to shoot into the bottle. Then the sugar-free syrup is added which unleashes a fruity smell, and taste.

The stand itself is a simple design, to showcase the simplicity of water. It is made from simple, low-cost materials, and has plenty of hidden storage for the cups, bottles, ice, and gas cannisters.

To further help customers stay safe from the hot sun, there is a area of shaded seating underneath a tent-like canopy.

Hydros proposes an alternative to the unappealing side of festivals. We can say goodbye to the sticky bars with rowdy people, and the warm tap water which is always next to the smelly toilets. And most importantly, goodbye to hangovers!

Hydros uses reusable cups and bottles, which can be refilled for a reduced price. Each cup and bottle has a limited edition Hydros design, and a QR code. Whenn scanned, the code offers Hydros customers a limited-time discount to purchase their very own Soda Stream.

The bottles sold at Hydros are compatible with Soda Stream, and can be used at home with their very own machine.
